LCS Foundation Invests in CNA Education and Training Across Senior Living Communities

The LCS Foundation recently awarded $10,000 in grant funding to support the development of additional Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification classes at  LCS communities. This year marks the fourth consecutive year the LCS Foundation has invested in developing future leaders in the senior housing and care profession through CNA certification programs.  The communities or community groups/partnerships selected to receive the $2,000 grant include:

Dallas Retirement Village, Dallas, Oregon 

Since launching the CNA grant program in 2023, the LCS Foundation has awarded more than $40,000 in funding to support CNA education and workforce development initiatives across LCS communities.  

“Investing in caregiver education is one of the most meaningful ways we can support the future of senior living,” said Zane Bennett, President of the LCS Foundation and Vice President of Business Development for LCS. “By helping communities expand CNA training opportunities, we're creating pathways for career growth while building a stronger workforce to serve residents for years to come.” 

The grants will be used to establish or expand on-site CNA classes and support expenses such as marketing and recruitment materials, sample programs, mannequins, textbooks, and state approval or certification costs. 

Now in its fourth year, the CNA grant program continues to create lasting impact in communities that have received funding over multiple years. This sustained investment helps expand workforce development opportunities, advance employee career growth, and ultimately enhance the quality of care provided to residents. The long-term impact of the program can be seen in Tennessee, where previous grants have helped expand CNA training opportunities across multiple communities. 

“The Foundation’s support has played a pivotal role in the growth of our CNA certification classes,  and we are incredibly grateful for the funding that makes this important work possible,” said Megan Estrada, Medication Aide Program Director and Instructor for Clarendale at Bellevue Place and Clarendale at Indian Lake. “Through previous grants, we have expanded our CNA training program throughout Tennessee, allowing more employees to pursue meaningful professional development opportunities and advance their careers. 

“With this newest grant, we will further strengthen that effort by adding two training locations, five instructors, and dedicated clinical support at participating communities. These enhancements will make training more accessible, reduce travel requirements for staff, and help us prepare the next generation of skilled caregivers.”
