LCS Foundation Ed & Sue Kenny Scholarship Award Application Form

The Ed & Sue Kenny Scholarship was designed to promote the education and professional development of undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree in senior lifestyle services. The scholarship is open to qualified students across the country. Applications for 2024 scholarships open on July 1, 2024, and are due by Nov. 1, 2024.

General

Education

Provide an explanation as to why you are pursuing a degree in the field of senior living. Also include in your narrative, your immediate and long-range professional goals. Please keep your narrative to approximately 300 words.

Additional Information

I work/or have worked in the senior living industry.
I work/or have worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide.
I volunteer or have volunteered with senior services providers.
I am a member of the student chapter of ACHCA.
I am a national member of ACHCA.

Scholarship Criteria

  • 3.0 GPA
  • Soph/Junior/Senior Class
  • Demonstrated leadership
  • Demonstrated commitment to senior lifestyle services
  • Completed internship, rotations, or mentor program in senior lifestyle services
  • Note: Current LCS employees (with the exception of interns) and dependents of LCS officers are not eligible for consideration.

 

Scholarship Checklist

  • Completed application
  • Narrative: Explain why you are pursuing a degree in the field of senior care and services, including your immediate and long-range professional goals (approximately 300 words).
  • Letters of recommendation (minimum of two): One from a college/university professor and one from a supervisor or leader who has been involved with the candidate's internship, rotation, or mentor program in senior lifestyle services.
  • Due date: The 2024 scholarship cycle will open July 1, with all applications due by Nov. 1, 2024.
