Granger Cobb Institute for Senior Living Names 2026 LCS Foundation Scholarship Recipient

The Granger Cobb Institute for Senior Living at Washington State University (WSU) has announced Eva Cooper as the recipient of the 2026 LCS Foundation University Scholarship. Cooper is a sophomore pursuing a major in aging business management, with an expected graduation in May 2029. 

She is drawn to the senior living field because of its collaborative and rewarding nature, where she can support, teach, and learn from others daily while helping improve the industry. 

For Cooper, a career in the senior living industry offers a meaningful way to give back the compassion and life lessons her great-grandmother instilled in her during her formative years. 

“This scholarship reassures me that my hard work is being recognized and confirms I’m pursuing a field that is both the right fit and something I’m truly passionate about,” she said. “The scholarship will also help ease financial stress, allowing me to focus on my education and continue building knowledge to serve aging communities.” 

After graduation, Cooper hopes to obtain a leadership role where she can support, teach, and learn from others while driving improvements across the senior living industry. 

The LCS Foundation established a partnership with the Granger Cobb Institute for Senior Living at WSU to support the continued education of students pursuing degrees in the senior living industry. Through the program, university scholarships are awarded annually. Recipients are chosen by the Granger Cobb Selection Committee guided by principles endorsed by the LCS Foundation. Other schools where scholarships are in place include Northwood University, the University of Northern Iowa, and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
