LCS Foundation Announces New Board Members 2021

The LCS Foundation, a not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to supporting the senior living industry, has named Elisa Baptiste as its new board president. Baptiste succeeds the LCS Foundation’s founder and former LCS CEO, Ed Kenny, who has served as board president since 2017. Kenny will continue to serve as a member of the board.

Baptiste has served on the LCS Foundation Board since 2017 and has served the Board as the chair of the Emergency Relief Fund Committee. She is currently the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Care Purchasing Services, An LCS Company. Baptiste will serve a 2-year term as board president.

“I am honored to lead the LCS Foundation and want to thank - first and foremost - Ed Kenny for his service, vision and leadership,” said Baptiste. “Ed has led the Foundation with a heart for making an impact on people and a focus on investing in the future of the senior living industry. We are fortunate to have his expertise and insight continue as a member of the Board. The success stories from his work will be seen for generations to come.”

Kenny and his wife Sue created the Foundation following his distinguished career as LCS CEO. As the inaugural board president, he established key focus areas for the Foundation’s charitable giving:

  • Support the research and work toward Alzheimer’s first survivor;
  • Develop future leaders in the senior housing and care profession; and
  • Establish an LCS Employee Relief Fund.

Since its inception in 2017, the LCS Foundation has donated more than $680,000 to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association, provided over $440,000 in emergency relief funds to community-based employees, and awarded more than $441,000 for scholarships and professional development programs for those who aspire to work in the senior living industry.

“Our work has grown and inspired others to make a difference, get involved and find purpose in their careers – that is what we hoped the LCS Foundation would do,” said Kenny. “I am grateful for every individual and organization who is helping the LCS Foundation live out our mission of serving others and know our impact will continue to grow under Elisa’s leadership.”

Other appointments named to three-year board terms include:

  • Zane Bennett, Director, Business Development
  • Rick Exline, EVP/Senior Managing Director of Life Plan Communities
  • Kent Kalmey, Director, Operations Management
  • Traci McBee, Director, Corporate Communications
